First Aid Kit – The Lion’s Roar

So many albums I want to tell you about and so little time to actually make it happen. There’s nothing to do but to take it one post at a time…

The album of today is “The Lion’s Roar” by First Aid Kit. I have a shameless weakness for Swedish bands and these flickor (girls in Swedish) are no exception. It’s a folksy album but not overly so… it’s foreign folk which is much different than the traditional American folk that leans towards country. As far as individual songs go, In The Hearts Of Men has a groove I can get with and To A Poet floats along in that place between sad and hopeful. And I love the haunting melody of Dance To Another Tune.

For fans of Tilly & The Wall, The Staves, Cat Power, and Regina Spektor. Njuta!
