Foster The People – Torches
Artist: Foster The People
Album: Torches
Genre: Medicinal Synth
This is the first and only album thus far from the LA based band “Foster The People“. They formed in 2009 but just released their first album a few months ago. The album has done pretty well for itself, especially for a debut album, but I’m still shocked at how many people I talk to that haven’t heard of it. So in my mission to inform you guys of all purchase worthy albums I am now informing you of this one.
Somehow I’ve had several of their songs for quite a while now (various mixes and singles) but I suppose their full length has just taken some time to put out. As for my favorites, Houdini and Helena Beat are just plain fun songs. And Waste is what I imagine the musical love child of Mew and Paper Route would sound like. Don’t Stop (Color On The Walls) has some Spoon undertones which nicely compliments the subtle Hail Social vibes that permeate the entire album.
Suggested if you enjoy busting a move to MGMT, Hail Social, or Paper Route.
“I’ll help you see it through, because I just really want to be with you.”
